A basketweave fabric is one of my favorites because of the visual depth and interest. And this wool basketweave is so rich looking! That’s because while the weft is pure black, the warp is composed of two different threads that are each plied, so you have gold, burnt orange, and two different khaki colors. No wonder I see a variety of gold and brown tones! The wool is on the lighter end of medium weight. Perfect for a jacket, either a traditional blazer or silhouette with a punch. The fabric is super soft to the touch, and it has a soft hand without being limp. With the generous yardage, you could definitely make an ensemble, or maybe his and hers shirts.
