In addition to my hands-on classes, I offer individual instruction. From sewing and construction techniques to fitting, pattern development, garment design, fabric selection, and handling specific fabrics, I focus the sessions on what will help your sewing be successful and personally rewarding. I enjoy working with people of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to very experienced sewers. I have privately instructed young children learning to sew, teens preparing to apply to college-level fashion programs, hobby sewers and makers who enjoy the creativity of sewing, and sewing professionals who have their own businesses.
Whatever your level and interest, I am happy to offer my expertise to help you achieve your goals. Meet with me on an "as-needed" basis, or have me develop a curriculum for you. I charge by the hour for private instruction, and lessons can be however long or short you would like. For lessons taught at my studio, which is in Phoenix, Maryland in the Baltimore metropolitan area, my current teaching rate is $85.00 per hour. Arrangements can also be made for me to come to where you live, in which case my traveling rate is $150 per hour. All payments for private instruction are payable by cash or check.
Many long distance students find online consulting with me to be a very effective way to learn.
