After taking Sarah's Define Your Style class, Emily Redwine put what she learned to use, creating beautiful mix and match ensembles that suit her style. This is a look at Sarah's studio and classroom space.

Sarah's classes are structured to give students plenty of time to work on their own to apply concepts being taught. This showcases her students at work. Fitting clothes on yourself is one of the most difficult challenges sewers face. Sarah is available during all of her classes to fit students so they can fine tune their patterns.

Lectures and demonstrations are part of Sarah's classes. Sarah explains concepts to her students and then gives them hands-on demonstrations to elaborate on her lectures. For her classes, Sarah has her students develop mock-ups to perfect the fit of a garment.

Sarah has group exercises to help her students focus on certain aspects of design. A large part of sewing and design is learning how to select appropriate fabrics. Sarah takes her students to a local independent fabric store to guide them through this process.
