My classes have been developed to offer both home sewers and sewing professionals the opportunity to take a comprehensive look into particular aspects of sewing and design. Classes typically take one of three formats:
- Shorter classes and lectures, which provide a solid introduction to various topics, offered at events and in locations across the country.
- In-depth classes, which I call Intensives. These classes take place over several days and are usually a combination of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on experience, and lots of individual attention. These classes provide the opportunity to be with others interested in sewing and to also learn from their projects.
- Sewing retreats, where I work with students individually on whatever they are currently interested in (for example, fitting, pattern work, construction, design) for one to several days.
I usually teach Intensives and retreats out of my studio in the Sparks/Hunt Valley area, north of Baltimore, but occasionally I offer these types of classes at another location. For more information about studio accommodations and visiting the area, please see Travel Info.
